About Data Services

Data Services (DS) fosters the research and educational goals of the university in the broad areas of research data analysis, management and curation. We have developed and continue to grow an extensive suite of methodologies, tools and software capabilities to support the needs of faculty, students and staff.   Our team is a trusted and innovative resource for the campus community and we are available for consultation, training, and collaborative projects.  DS is part of Washington University Libraries and our office is located in Olin Library Level A room 07, directly under Whispers Cafe.

Our Mission:

Data Services provides support to faculty and students whose research incorporates research data or spatial problems.  DS creates integrated software solutions to address data related needs including access, storage, management, visualization, preservation and application development.  We offer expertise in spatial thinking, GIS, geospatial data discovery and creation, analysis, visualization, modeling, 3D visualization, scanning and printing.
