GIS Related Course Listings

Washington University in St. Louis offers daytime courses that include instruction in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts and techniques. Evening courses are available through University College. In addition to regular course offerings, specialized training sessions can be arranged for small groups. Some courses focus on GIS applications in specific fields such as anthropology or environmental studies, while others are directed towards mastering ArcGIS software.  The list below compiles courses that have been offered in past semesters; see current WU course listings for courses being offered in upcoming fall, spring or summer semesters.

Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (University College)

The 18-unit Certificate in Geographic Information Systems offered through University College teaches both fundamental and advanced concepts and skills, including design of GIS projects, operation of software, cartographic output, spatial analysis, and industry-specific applications of GIS. The certificate targets working professionals seeking course work and skill enhancement in the field, as well as students wishing to complement their academic interests with additional training in GIS (Request Info).
